Breakfast Bar Craft Fair

There's a new weekly craft fair in the Cowbridge Road East Breakfast Bar - every Saturday between 3 and 6pm.

Here's something I made in a quiet spell today
Chilli Pepper Earrings!!

I'm hoping to go along fairly regularly, especially in February when the wood-fired pizza oven comes to visit... mmm pizza.

Where was I? Oh yes. Crafty people, if you'd like to come along to please get in touch with The Breakfast Bar
There more the merrier - let's make this a place to visit on a Saturday afternoon!

Nappy Cake - help!

This is a temporary post with terrible photos just because I was hoping some of you lovely people could help me choose my trim colours for this nappy cake.
I thought I had enough pink ribbon to do the whole thing, but annoyingly it didn't quite reach!

So what I have here is:

Option 1 - Neapolitan

urgh, flashy!

Option 2 - Purple/pink/purple

Option 3 - Pink/purple/pink

So, which do you prefer? And before I chop up that piece of purple ribbon, do you think it's actually the sash from my new dress, as I have no idea where it's come from!

More cards

What do I have here...? More cards? Well... Yes. These are the silver versions of the invitations from a couple of weeks ago. They're made using the embossing machine and outline stickers, with raised toppers made from either outline stickers or heat embossed sentiments.

Word Art Pictures

Here's a lovely idea for a wedding gift - personalised word art in a picture frame

They're made using a box frame. This is deeper than a regular picture frame, so you can put 3D objects in it.
As you can see, scrabble-like tiles work very well! (They're not Scrabble tiles, mind you. That's a registered trademark, and I don't have the rights to use that...No indeed. These are wooden letter tiles. Arranged in a crossword formation)

This one used a birch coloured frame from The Range, it matched really nicely with the wooden tiles. And I've used an 8x8 backing sheet to set them off.

They also came in white!

Cards

I haven't made cards in a while - don't tell anyone, but lots of my stuff is still in storage.

I did whip up a few invitations for a birthday. You probably don't need to see all of them though...

Oh alright - you can see them all if you like!
Here are the gold ones (I've made lots and lots in silver as well, they'll pop up over the next few weeks)

I've used my magic embossing machine. I love my embossing machine. It's only a tiny wee handbag one, but it makes such pretty patterns..
What else is there? Oh yes, heat embossing. I haven't done that in ages: took rather a lot of practice attempts to get the hang of it again. And I really must use an anti-static cloth in future!

Butterfly Earrings

A lovely lady at work asked if I could make some butterfly earrings... goodness me, yes I could!

I've even managed to list one here!

Some more glasses chains

So here's what I got up to this Christmas.

These are a little simpler than I usually make - they're all made from one style of seed bead, and the rubber ends are attached permanently to horseshoe shaped wire guardians. These guardians protect the rubber glasses holders from the wire.

I've got plenty of colours left to experiment with - they'll be listed in my Etsy shop as soon as my camera battery charges back up!

If you fancy a colour I haven't made yet, please let me know at bojanglies@yahoo.co.uk

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a grand time over Christmas - I had two weeks at home with the family, no cooking, no cleaning... it was ace ! (Sorry, Mum!)

I made a bundle of new glasses chains, and finished a few more Christmas ornaments.
Which is what I've got to show you today.

Better late than never, I guess...

These were made using glass beads and silver coloured spacers. The shape is a ready made snowflake available from Beadsmith.
They're effective, but my oh my, are they hard work! I bent pliers twisting the ends round. Next time I think I'll be gluing bead caps on the end!

There are shiny blues and turquoises:

Shiny red and green ones...

And shiny purple and silver ones. Which are available the right way up!

I give up - I've spent an hour trying to straighten these photos!
